From indie-rock to the World Series of Poker — and a lot in between — the renowned musician and audio engineer has had a surprisingly uni-adjacent career.
Damn, this was fantastic. Loved the intersection of uniform and logo minutiae in music and pop culture, and the band logo discussion was just great. Steve was such an engaging subject, bravo all around.
Great stuff, Paul. So many things I love in this interview -- Albini, coveralls, Beer Frame, seam rippers and de-logo-fying clothing, that belt guitar strap, DIY design on company equipment when the boss is away...
This was fantastic. As a poker player myself I will add that pretty much everyone wears hoodies in some form, even in the dead of summer, and of course sunglasses are very common. While he is correct about backpacks, a lot of the trendier/higher stakes pro's now wear man-purses/clutches usually made by one of the high-end designers like Coach, etc. Often, when I think someone is bluffing me, I check to see if they have a backpack or man-purse. They are much likelier to be bluffing if they carry cash in a man-purse, lol.
This was just so wonderful. I'm also a musician and a Uni-Watch enthusiast and this just hit every chord.

OMF-ingG! What an incredible interview for a music nerd like me! Thanks Paul.
This one was worth every penny of my subscription.
Holy shit...so much to love about this. Perfection, Paul. Thank you.

Thanks, man -- appreciated!
Magnificent! This was like two heroes from different comics having a big crossover event!
