I don't mean this as a dig, but I've always found it a little funny that the workload for Unified felt so heavy and onerous for you and Chris. Because around that same time, a YouTube channel I follow launched a podcast that was a similar(ish) format and they've raved about how little time and effort it took for them compared to making a living on YouTube. Obviously yall had to do actual journalism before recording the podcast, but I still think the contrast is amusing.

Maybe we weren't working as efficiently as we could have..? I don't know. But it was huge time/energy sink for each of us.

Hi Paul. Huge thank you for this exchange:

“What’s wrong with people? The same thing that’s right about them: They (we) are human.”

Like many I suspect, I easily focus on the things about people (including me) that suck. Your simple response to that question is wonderful. Remember to take the good with the bad peeps.

Hey Paul, I have to bring something up regarding the NHL white road switch. As a fan growing up when jerseys started becoming more retail friendly (around 95/96 when they were easily in stores), 90% of the jerseys in stores for NHL, NBA, and NFL were the color version. The only white jerseys I ever saw were of the local NFL team, and if a store carried 5 players, MAYBE 2 would be offered in white. So the NHL marketing going with "Well, people buy more color jerseys", thats because its all they gave us! We didn't have a choice.

Great content this round! The Yankee cap emblem you showed is not the cap emblem though. It is the helmet logo as detailed in your post from 2 years ago...

Somewhat off topic, I didn't know about the city of Dallas logo until now. I love it! It's a great example of 70's graphic design. If I lived in Dallas I'd love to have a ball cap or maybe a tee with the logo on it.

Blues fan here who also prefers their white sweaters. I was a kid in the early '90s and preferred white-over-blue instead of the the monochromatic blue look they wore on the road.

When they changed things up in 1995 (technically the '94-95 season that didn't start until January), I never much cared for the giant blotch of red on the away sweater, but really liked the home sweater, even with more red than we'd ever sported before.

The royal-over-navy look they currently wear at home isn't the worst, but I 100% agree that everyone should go back to wearing white sweaters at home and colors on the road.

Amazing read as always! Thanks for sharing all of this. Makes me very happy to read your thoughts . I consider myself a “classicist” and find myself more often than not nodding along with approval as I read daily. Thanks Paul. Long live Uni-Watch!
