I like a post a day, and I like regularity in its publishing. Morning noon or night I don’t care at all, nor weekday vs weekend. If it’s multiple posts a day, that’s where I start to lose things
Really, as soon as you posted the BOMP story, you went straight to the top of my to-read pile. Or perhaps I should say that everybody else got bomped. Whenever you post, I’ll be here.
I clicked on Weekday and mornings but TBH I usually just check IC as part of my morning coffee routine and if there is something new posted I read it or throw the url on my bookmark bar as a reminder to read it later.
This is how I feel as well. That's something I like about the posts being emailed; I can read them whenever I get the chance and leave them "unread" if necessary so I know I haven't gotten to one yet.
I prefer Substack newsletters (all of them, not just yours) to be published on weekday mornings, because the comment section is more livelier. Fun to check in throughout the day.
The biggest challenge is that EVERYTHING is paywalled. I can't get enough of a free sample to see if I like your Substack enough to pay for it.
The Substacks that I am paying for (about 5 of them) put about 1/3 or 1/4 of their content in front of their paywall, and that's how I got to liking them.
I got used to reading UW daily on the train during my commute. I have found though I am reading IC more in the evening as I wind down. I also catch up on the weekends as I scroll through the app.
I'm in the "It doesn't matter to me" camp. I read the posts when I have a chance and the email doesn't really bother me. As far as I'm concerned, keep doing what you're doing.
Someone mentioned that time zones are funny, and since I just returned to Baltimore from Oregon, boy, do I agree! So although I checked "weekdays," it really doesn't matter to me. I'll get around to looking at them and enjoy them.
Honestly, I kind of enjoy the "surprise!" aspect of not being sure when a post will land. If I don't have time to read it at that moment, I save it in my inbox until I do.
Just chiming in that I like the surprise part of it as well. It's always nice to see that notification that there's something new, no matter how long or how short.
I came here to add a comment and realized this is 100% how I feel as well. Always a nice surprise in my Inbox, and an email I always take time to read whether it's right then or later.
It is kind of you to ask. I have started to use the emails as a notification to check the Substack app because the images may or may not show properly in the email but the article in the Substack app does not have that issue.
So funny that the majority in both cases said it really does not matter. Good to know!

I've set my email software to automatically sort most emails into distinct folders. A new email in the folder makes the folder name go BOLD
So it's easy to consume immediately or after getting a Manhattan.
Just keep writing. I’ll keep reading.

Whenever is convenient for you is good for me! I thoroughly enjoy your content whenever I see it.

The first month of IC content was not paywalled and remains freely available to all in the archive. Enjoy!
I only read IC through the substack app, so publishing schedule doesn’t matter to me much. I’m genuinely enjoying the ride.

I enjoy the email letting me know that I have a new IC to read but I always go to Substack to read it at my leisure.

I also like the "surprise" aspect.
I'm still regularly checking your past project at regular intervals, so it's nice to have something more spontaneous.
