I am now obsessed with the bird! Was just looking at the website...a lot of cool mid-century modern stuff on there. I think I'll be placing an order soon.
I love your mantle accoutrements. I, too, have the same parking meter guts on a shelf in my office, along with my Dick & Pat Nixon* commemorative plate, Ike & Mamie Eisenhower* commemorative plate, Gerry Ford* commemorative plate, my 1968 Little League baseball trophy, ashtray from my favorite bar from the ’70s (Pat’s Mountain Road Inn), an 1957 Chevy Bel Air replica (1957—best year ever), and a kazoo.
*Not necessarily a fan of these presidents, but I love the kitschy plates.

I’ve got that same bird in my desk. I’m also drawn to touch and adjust. Its simplicity of materials is what strikes me. Solid and grounded but light.
Oh, those Danes--so good with wood!
