Hello! Sorry that I’m a day late sending out this week’s digest. I had jury duty for the past few days, so many of my usual routines were disrupted.
Here’s what’s been happening over on the Uni Watch Blog:
Saturday, Feb. 10
As part of Phil’s pre-Super Bowl coverage, he took a look at the uniform histories of the 49ers and Kansas City.
Phil also presented the third installment in his four-part ranking of Super Bowl uniform matchups.
Phil also looked at the history of Niners/KC uniform matchups.
Sunday, Feb. 11
Phil presented the final installment of his ranking of Super Bowl uni matchups.
Phil wrapped up his Super Bowl coverage by predicting the winner based on the better uniform.
Monday, Feb. 12
I delivered my Monday Morning Uni Watch report on the Super Bowl.
Rumors that the Jets would promote their throwbacks to primary status have now been confirmed.
If you want any Uni Watch or Naming Wrongs T-shirts, move fast because they will soon be sunsetting.
Two more 2024 MLB batting practice caps have appeared online.
MLB has also released its 2024 St. Patrick’s Day caps.
As per his annual custom, Uni Watch reader Steve Speicher DIY’d himself some jerseys for the Super Bowl.
Tuesday, Feb. 13
The NFL has unveiled the logo for next year’s Super Bowl.
Tiger Woods, no longer with Nike, unveiled his new brand partnership with TaylorMade Golf.
With spring training starting, Cardinals players don’t like Nike’s new uniform template.
Speaking of the Cardinals, we got our first look at how their script will look on the new jerseys.
In a major surprise, the Dodgers will be the first MLB team to get a second City Connect uniform.
The Red Sox and Rays will wear caps with commemorative side patches for their upcoming two-game spring series in the Dominican Republic.

Wednesday, Feb. 14

A lot of people seem confused about whether Nike or Fanatics is responsible for the changes to MLB uniforms this year, so I tried to sort out the facts from the fiction.
The Orlando Magic retired Shaquille O’Neal’s No. 32 — the first number retirement ever for an Orlando player — and totally botched the banner design.
The Dodgers have become the latest MLB team with a sleeve advertisement.
With the 2024 MLS season set to begin next week, five teams unveiled new shirt designs.
Thursday, Feb. 15
Nike’s new uni template is ruining MLB’s best pants (yes, pants).
Yet another casualty of the new template: The Phillies’ jersey logo is no longer chain-stitched.
