As you may recall, The Art of Noticing impresario Rob Walker is mildly obsessed with “Cuidado Man,” which is his name for the stick figures that appear on various “Caution: Slippery Floor” signs. Rob’s Cuidado Man fixation is what led to my broader examination of stick figures in peril, which has been a running theme here at Inconspicuous Consumption for the past several months.

Rob’s wife, E, recently presented him with a spectacular birthday gift: a handmade quilt adorned with various iterations of Cuidado Man and other imperiled stick figures. You can see some of the embroidered squares above, and here are a few more photos:
