A Whole New Subcategory of Stick Figures in Peril!

How have inhalation warnings escaped our notice until now? Plus a new miracle fish!

Although the pace has dropped off a bit, readers continue to send me examples of stick figures in peril (a topic I first wrote about back in August). The latest one, shown above, was recently sent my way by reader Ed Hahn. As an asthmatic, I find that the sight of all those particulates it the stick figure’s respiratory tract makes the peril feel particularly palpable — yikes!

That graphic is from an online vendor, so I started searching to see if I could find a photo of that same design on an actual warning sign in the wild. Here’s one that I came up with:

But here’s the thing: While I was searching for that sign photo, I discovered that there’s a whole sub-world of additional designs showing stick figures facing inhalation-related peril, whether from poisonous gases, dust, airborne carcinogens, or whatever. I’m not sure how we haven’t encountered this stick figure category before, but I’ve gathered a bunch of the designs to share with you today.
