My latest apparel purchase has more tags than I’ve ever seen on a single piece of clothing.

I recently bought a cheap pair of used shorts on eBay. They happen to have been made by The North Face, but I wasn’t specifically looking for that brand. I just wanted a pair of inexpensive beige/khaki cargo shorts in my size, and this is the pair I ended up choosing.

When the shorts arrived, I was surprised to see that they came with a little red loop on the rear inner waistband, for hanging — a nice enough touch, I suppose, although it would be just as easy to hang the shorts by one of the belt loops.

This morning I noticed that there’s a truly astonishing number of tags lurking beneath the red loop. Check this out:
